So in an earlier post I mentioned, sometimes it's wise to spend money on things you need when they are on tremendously great sales. Sales so great you have never, ever seen the items at this price before. That sort of thing. Well, on the way home from a job Jackie had to return a pair of shoes. Right next door was a Michaels I'd never been to. I needed adhesive. How bad could it be?
Michaels did it to me again!
I've mentioned I am making so much stuff for the Art Market, I am rapidly running out of room to store it all. This remains the truth. But there were some things I had been wanting to try-after I sold most of the stuff I've been up to my eyeballs in. Until I walked into Michaels-out of adhesive again (I need to buy stock in that company) and I found three Recollections 3 ring resist canvas albums-for $3 bucks!!! Seriously??? In my arms they appear. I don't even recall grabbing them...
I keep searching for that stupid adhesive. And To What Should My Wandering Eye Appear? Stacks of Brilliance Inks and A La Mode too!
Way Cheap!! And I have almost no inks. Just the cheap kids ink pads you can buy at the dollar store. That's all I use. So My-mind-of-it's-own traitorous arm scooped up some inks-now I needed a damn basket...
And then to my utter Horror, I turned a corner and what do you think it was? You guessed it: ART SUPPLIES!!!
Of all the rotten, low down, nasty things to do to a person on a budget, trying to save every dime...Art supplies.
Just shoot me.
I did really well though. I bought a very large sketch book, 4.99. A new 10 piece brush set, 6.99. Some paper, 4.99. Some water colors, 4.99. and a different brand of colored pencil than I've used before, 4.99.
All in all a rather frugal visit.
Unfortunately, I have to go back because I completely forgot the stupid adhesive I went in there for in the first place...
