I would like to thank all the brave men and women who have offered their lives in service to our country. Your service to our country is greatly appreciated. And, although you don't hear it often enough, there are those of us who pray for your safety and the safety of your loved ones each and every day.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He give you peace within your heart, soul and mind during your service, and may He bring you home safely to your loved ones when your time of service is complete. May you know, always, prayers are being said for you and know you rest in the hands of the Lord God Almighty.
Then there are those who gave their lives, and for their ultimate sacrifice, our country owes a debt we can never repay. We owe their loved ones that same debt. Their loss is, again, keenly felt this weekend as we remember those who have fallen in service to our land.
May we never forget the loved ones of our service men and women, for their price is also steep. They, too, must be remembered and thanked for their service. For it is no small act of sacrifice they gave our nation. To send husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters off to serve in the armed forces-whether in peace time or war-those are the most treasured offerings, indeed.
To all who offered their lives, all those who gave their lives, and to those who loved them, we thank you.
May the Lord bless each and every one of you. Thank you for all you have given us. We are humbled and we are grateful.
