You know, I'm always fascinated by the spaces in which other people create. I often wonder what it is they have surrounding them that inspires their imaginations and creativity. There is a wonderful magazine, Where Women Create which I would love to subscribe to, but funds do not allow.
Anyway, I thought perhaps the two people reading this blog might like to see where I create the various bits and bobs I make. Here you are:

So let me take you around the room. These pictures are taken just after completing the move into the new space. (I had the workroom on the main floor. We returned that room to it's original use as a bedroom.)
1. We begin at my desk/work space. I have my computer located to the right of my chair beneath my pink chandelier.
2. My grandma's enamel top table sits beside my work desk and holds most of my often used jewelry making items. In front of my work space is a small book case which holds some of my more important books.
3. These two portable, multi-drawer carts are no longer in the room. They held more jewelry making supplies which I have weened down and rearranged. My sewing machine sits here on a small folding table now.
4. This is the first of the large bookcases. There are two in the room currently, but there is room for three. We also have all the materials purchased for the third bookcase. DH just lacks the time required to construct it.
5. This is my wall and door-both made of painter's canvas drop cloths. The space where the antique sewing machine sits is where the not-yet-built bookcase will be. The door will remain a drop cloth until we have a better solution to this challenge.
6. The second bookcase. Both bookcases are filled with supplies and materials, as well as books and my personal treasures.
7. A large storage unit with adjustable shelves. The shelf above it holds a vintage lunchbox, a picture of my dad and A. and beneath it hangs our family tree.
8. A large bulletin board above a love seat which I hope to recover very soon.
9. The doll house built by my late father-in-law for my oldest daughter is painted and hung, as a shelf, above the nine space storage unit.
10. More storage units and a small cupboard-another Goodwill purchase.
11. Wall decor and shelf/storage
12. My desk top
13. My favorite bible verses painted on top of my mom's hope chest (which she gave to me several years ago).
14. Close up of my books
15. Close up of dollhouse shelf
16, 17. Close up of shelf above wall decor
18. Chandelier and large black and white vintage poster
19. Long distance shot of back wall of workroom
20. Love seat and red chair, both Goodwill finds.
I wish the room still looked this good. It is currently a huge mess. I have been working on it this month, as one of my goals this month was to clean and organize my workroom, but I haven't seemed to make much progress.
When I get it pulled together once again, I'll post the revamped version. Hope you enjoyed the tour!
