My dear Uncle Gene is not doing well, health-wise. He's got a tumor on his kidney, a large tumor in a lung with smaller buckshot sized tumors scattered throughout both lungs, and a large blood clot in the lung.
While we do not know if these tumors are cancerous, we have assumed they are.
Then during the night he had a stroke.
So I was feeling really low. I went to school and painted canvases for Tarzan-which opens in two weeks. The set is not bad. Platforms of varied heights, painted in jungle colors with canvas drop cloths (painted in those same colors and random shapes and splotches) for the fronts of the platforms.
As I was hanging one of the canvases up on the tallest platform-sideways, not the way I painted it-to dry, Laurie was watching and said "I can see Mary and Joseph". I laughed and said "Okaaayy" Then I stepped back to look. Sure enough, there they were. As plain as the nose on your face. And so was their donkey, laying down next to them.
Then we saw the inn keeper with a lantern, and the angel. We went back to work.
Later we came back, I noticed the three kings immediately. Then we spotted three scary faces we decided were Harods' soldiers, a camel, a road which led to the tomb-with the stone rolled away! Laurie asked if there was a Golgotha. I knew there would be-with out a doubt. Sure enough, directly above the tomb there are three crosses in relief-as though light is coming from behind them.
The story of Christs life depicted on canvas.
I phoned my mom to tell her everything was going to be alright. If our Lord could take the time to use my paint brush to create this painting on canvas, He's got everything in control. Uncle Gene is safely in His hands. And whatever the outcome-Christ Jesus has him and has a plan for him.
There is a boat as well on the canvas. In it was a large picture of a man. He was dark haired, had a very distinctive face, he was looking back-away from the audience. Now in the picture I cannot see the man anymore. I still see the boat, but the man is gone.
This was quite moving and both Laurie and I wondered if other could see it,too, or if it was just something only the two of us could see...
So I sent a text to Paul asking him not to disturb the paintings until I had a chance to speak with him about it. I explained a bit in the text, but very little. Until he, too, saw the nativity scene in the painting-without others to point it out to him.
We are blessed. In all things give praise. This is what the painting has done for me. Shown me that Christ is there, even in the trivial stuff. He is in control of it all. I don't need to worry, because His plan is beautiful and wonderful and I can trust Him on that.
The evil one rules here on earth. That was given over to him for a period of time. But the earth will be taken back. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. And those of us who believe Christ is the son of God and man will be part of that. And Lord God will lay his hand upon mine and I will be cured of all my diseases. And I will be made perfect by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I'll post this after I've slept a bit and re-read this for typo's.
