I phoned my Dr's office for a refill of my muscle relaxer. I have muscle spasms in my arms all the time, it's just one of those daily annoyances associated with my arm stuff. No big deal, other than it won't let me sleep.
Which I don't do well anyway.
Insomnia sucks, by the way. But I digress...
So I phoned for a refill. The nurse called me back to announce the Dr. needed to see me before she'd give me a refill.
Great.
So off I go to the doctor. I explain what happened, with the Emerald City falling on me (twice), pulling my right arm back around and behind me.
I did catch the stupid thing though and it was not damaged more than it was before we rented it. I'm quite proud of myself for that. I guess you would have to know exactly the abomination of a building/set piece this thing is to appreciate the effort I made here. Nevertheless, it yanked my arm in ways arms are not supposed to go.
Ever.
Then the huge amount of sanding, scraping and general over-the-head stuff on Devin's room the day before aggravated the injury and made a few more. Thus resulting in a pissed off right arm from my shoulder to my fingertips.
My Dr. was not impressed with my insistence on ignoring the injuries and continuing with my volunteer commitments. She was quite stern when she said I was not to use the right arm for 4 to 6 weeks.
I asked for clarification on that "not using the arm" thing.
She said I could, and I quote her here, "wipe your own butt, that's about it." She said I'd learn how to use my mouse with my left hand, read a lot, and generally sit around and do nothing...
I am not a sitter. I know I can only do things for moments at a time before I have to switch to something else, the arms cannot do anything repetitive, but to do nothing? Utterly preposterous.
