I've mentioned I'm an insomniac. And after the Wizard of Oz, I was feeling a bit blue. I decided to do all the painting/decorating I had planned years ago, but never got around to.
So I have painted all the public rooms on the main level of our home. I redid our main bathroom-the entire room will be remodeled for a total cost of less than $100-and it looks great! The problem is now I am on an arm restriction before the bathroom is completed...
I purchased the tile for the floor, a neutral ceramic with a slight texture for less slip. It looks nice in the room, although it is blah on it's own. I have the thin set, the grout, everything necessary to lay the tile flooring-except my arms are unable to do it.
And I am extremely frustrated by this.
And my dear husband is extremely frustrated by this as well, because it means he will have to do it. He does not want to do it.
Not at all.
Yet, I doubt I can wait six weeks before that floor goes in. The bathroom is so close to being finished-and I've lived in this crap hole for so long now it's driving me mad. DH will never understand how much this bothers me. It's like a constant, throbbing wound. It won't go away, and I can't make it better...
1,500 bucks would about cover the cost of new laminate flooring for the remainder of the public rooms up here. Which is what I want. It wears well, has the look of wood and is cheap. I can find stuff for less than a dollar a square foot. If I could only come up with the money...
And I can install the floating floor myself. I've watched it on You Tube.
So this is my next project. To sell my miniatures and gather enough money to purchase my floating floor. And put it all in while DH is gone on one of his business trips.
I shall continue to scheme in private. Because after the flooring comes our master bathroom. Which will be a huge expense. But one thing at a time.
First, the main bathrooms tile floor.
